Chiefs set to send Bennett to Tampa
Kansas City, MO - The Chiefs have reportedly agreed to send running back Michael Bennett to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to the Kansas City Star. The newspaper reported that Bennett was informed of the trade late Monday but did not indicate what Kansas City would receive in return for the former first round pick. The Buccaneers are in desperate need of help in the backfield after losing both Carnell "Cadillac" Williams and Michael Pittman to injuries. "It was a shock to me," Bennett told the newspaper. "It really caught me off- guard. I heard the speculation for the past few days, but nobody from the Chiefs said anything to me - so I guessed it wasn't going to happen." Bennett has rushed for just 52 yards on 20 carries this season. For his career, the former Wisconsin star has amassed 3,426 yards on 769 carries in stints with Minnesota and Kansas City.
